Day 1: Explore Fes
Spend the day uncovering the wonders of Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city. Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, one of the world’s oldest universities, and the vibrant souks. Explore the medina’s narrow alleys, marvel at the intricate tilework of the Bou Inania Madrasa, and learn about the traditional leather dyeing process at the tanneries. End your day with a delicious Moroccan dinner at your riad.
Day 2: Fes to Merzouga Desert
Depart early and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane and Azrou. Continue through the Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga. Embark on a camel trek into the Sahara Desert, where you’ll spend the night in a luxury camp, enjoying Berber hospitality, traditional music, and a starlit sky.
Day 3: Merzouga to Dades Valley
After breakfast, visit the dramatic Todra Gorge for a short hike or stroll along the river. Continue your journey through Berber villages and the Valley of Roses, known for its fragrant rose fields, before reaching Dades Valley. Enjoy a relaxing evening in a local riad with stunning views of the surrounding rock formations.
Day 4: Dades Valley to Marrakech
On your final day, visit the iconic Ait Benhaddou kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stop in Ouarzazate to see the Taourirt Kasbah before crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, ready to explore the city or relax at your riad.
