Day 1: Fes –> Ifrane –> Midelt –> Merzouga Sahar Desert
After an early breakfast, we will pick you up from the nearest car park to your hotel/riad and begin our journey to the Sahara Desert. We will pass through the winter ski resort of Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” and continue through the cedar forest of Azrou, where you can spot resident monkeys. As we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, you’ll marvel at the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rocks, and traditional Berber villages. We will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its rocks and fossils. After lunch break we will continue towards Merzouga, home to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. In the evening, you’ll embark on a one-hour camel ride to an oasis, where you’ll witness the breathtaking Sahara sunset. You’ll spend the night in a luxury desert camp, enjoying dinner under the stars, sitting around the campfire, listening to traditional Berber music, and gazing up at the starlit sky.
Day 2: Merzouga –> Erfoud –>Tinjdad –> Todra Gorge
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara sand dunes. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your luxury desert camp before departing for Todra Gorge. En route, we’ll make stops in Erfoud to visit the Museum of Fossils and Minerals, and in Tinjdad to explore Ksar El Khorbat, After lunch, we’ll drive through stunning landscapes to reach Todra Gorge. Take a short hike at the base of the gorge, surrounded by picturesque river valleys and traditional Berber villages. In the evening, check into your Auberge/hotel, savor a relaxing dinner, and indulge in stargazing in the tranquil surroundings.
Day 3: Todra Gorge –> Valley of Roses –> Ouarzazate –> Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou –> Marrakech
After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey to Marrakech. Along the way, we’ll pass through the breathtaking Valley of 1001 Kasbahs and the picturesque Valley of Roses, also known as Kelaat M’Gouna. We’ll visit the Atlas Studio, a renowned film studio, and the impressive Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. Following lunch, we’ll explore the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the filming location of numerous movies, including “Gladiator.” Next, we’ll drive over the majestic High Atlas Mountains, reaching an altitude of 2262 meters, and take in the stunning scenery and landscapes. Our journey will conclude in the vibrant red city of Marrakech, where you’ll check into your accommodation, enjoy dinner, and unwind in the evening.
